The "Horse Crossing" sign is odd: the older part of the Rail Trail from Dennis to Brewster was built with part of its width unpaved to accommodate equestrians -- a significant political constituency on the Cape -- but there is little equestrian use. The newer section that crosses here does not accommodate equestrians with an umpaved strip. There is no sign at the crossing requiring motorists to stop or yield, though by law they must yield to pedestrian traffic. As at many trail crossings, sight lines could be better -- here, vegetation is the main problem, though the low placement of the large sign doesn't help.
